The Krugerrand is only 91.67 percent pure in gold or 22 karats.
The back of the Krugerrand coin features South Africa's national symbol of the "Springbok Antelope".
The Krugerrand comes in 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz & 1/10oz.
At one point the Krugerrand was an illegal coin to purchase in the United States during South Africa's apartheid era.
