Maine State Quarter:
The Maine state quarter features a schooner and a lighthouse. The schooner is a representation of Victory Chimes which was one of the last 3 masted schooners of the Windjammer Fleet. Maine is known for windjamming.The Pemaquid Point Lighthouse was built to prevent shipwrecks and provide safe entry into Muscongus Bay and St. Johns Bay.
Maine became a state March 15th, 1820, it is our 23rd state.
